What Should Be Paid Attention To When Processing Cemented Carbide Molds?

In order to improve the performance of cemented carbide molds, many manufacturers will properly process their cemented carbide molds, so how to reduce the processing defects of cemented carbide molds?
Reasonably select and dress the grinding wheel. When processing cemented carbide molds, the diamond grinding wheel with organic bond is preferred. The organic bond grinding wheel has good self-grinding property, and the roughness of the ground workpiece can reach Ra0.2μm.
Rational use of cooling lubricating fluid plays three major roles of cooling, washing and lubricating, and keeps cooling and lubricating clean, so as to control the grinding heat within the allowable range to prevent thermal deformation of the workpiece.
Electrolytic grinding is used to improve the manufacturing precision and surface quality of cemented carbide molds. The wear of the grinding wheel is small, such as grinding cemented carbide, the wear amount of the silicon carbide grinding wheel is about 400% to 600% of the weight of the ground carbide. When electrolytic grinding is used, the wear amount of the grinding wheel is only 50% to 100% of the removal amount.
Reasonably choose the amount of grinding, and use a fine grinding method with a small radial feed or even fine grinding. If the radial feed and the speed of the grinding wheel are appropriately reduced, and the axial feed is increased, the contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is reduced, and the heat dissipation conditions are improved, thereby effectively controlling the increase in surface temperature.
In many cases, after the cemented carbide mold is processed, processing defects will also be reflected, resulting in a decline in mold performance. Therefore, it is also important to choose a cemented carbide mold factory with good technical level, rich experience, and complete facilities.
