Tungsten alloys are used in aerospace as missiles, rocket engine nozzles, gas rudders, air rudders, and nose cones. The main requirements are high temperature resistance (3000K~5000K) and high temperature airflow resistance. The sweating and cooling effect formed (copper melting point 1083°C) reduces the surface temperature of tungsten copper, ensuring the use under extreme conditions of high temperature.
Tungsten alloy is also a very important material in military industry. Whether it is artillery, shells, or armor, without tungsten alloys, it is now impossible to move an inch. The melting point of tungsten alloy is very high, the hardness is much stronger than alloy steel, and the toughness is also better. Of course, the density is also higher. To put it simply, the 88mm gun of the German "Tiger" tank during World War II was 20% more powerful when using a tungsten-core armor-piercing projectile than when using a steel-core armor-piercing projectile. However, because tungsten sand is very scarce, there are usually only a dozen tungsten-core armor-piercing projectiles in the "Tiger" type with more than 90 projectiles. The same situation happened to the Soviets. The Soviet self-use version of the T-72 tank used tungsten-core armor-piercing projectiles, and the artillery power was acceptable.
